Chander Nijhon is vice president of Strategy & Development for Raytheon Missile & Defense, a business of Raytheon Technologies. He oversees business strategy, strategic planning, portfolio management, acquisitions and investments for RMD.
Nijhon has more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, complex project management and engineering. Prior to joining RMD, he led the Group Strategy & Development function at Pratt & Whitney.
Before joining Pratt & Whitney, and prior to the merger between United Technologies and Raytheon Company, Nijhon served as a vice president in United Technology’s Corporate Strategy & Development team, where he managed the successful acquisition of Rockwell Collins and led the separation and spin-off of Carrier and Otis into stand-alone public companies.
Prior to joining United Technologies, Nijhon held a similar position at Johnson Controls and managed portfolio transformation and spin-off of the company’s automotive seating business. He started his career as an automotive engineer.
Nijhon holds bachelor’s degrees in computer engineering and mathematics from Oakland University in Michigan. He holds a master’s degree in computer science and engineering, also from Oakland University, and an MBA from Yale University’s School of Management, where he was selected student speaker for his graduating class.
