Vice President, Digital Technology, Raytheon Missiles & Defense
Mona Bates is vice president of Digital Technology and chief information officer for Raytheon Missiles & Defense, a business of Raytheon Technologies. Her responsibilities include strategic planning and execution of all facets of information technology and cyber security as well as leading digital transformation for air and missile defense systems, precision weapons, radars, command and control systems and advanced defense technologies.
Bates has more than 20 years of information technology and leadership experience in aerospace and defense and the commercial sector. Most recently, she served as chief information officer for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, prior to Raytheon Company’s merger with United Technologies Corporation in 2020.
Prior to Raytheon, Bates held senior leadership positions at Boecore Inc. supporting the Missile Defense Agency and successfully consolidated multiple contracts and organizations to form the Enterprise IT organization for MDA. Bates has also held multiple positions with increasing responsibilities at Verizon, leading Network engineering and services teams across the western United States.
Bates is fluent in Arabic. She currently serves as Executive Sponsor for Raytheon Women Network in the US-NorthEast region. She holds an MBA from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, with an emphasis in Technology Management, and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Networking from Regis University.
